Hear what people are saying about training with Shane:

“I have been training with Shane Heins for two and a half years and he is the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. He is an encouraging and motivational teacher with an ability to figure out just exactly what I need to develop and strengthen. The best part is that he breaks it down in such a way that I was able to increase my strength and fitness WITHOUT EVER GETTING SORE!

When I was 8 months pregnant, and in constant discomfort, Shane Heins taught me the excersices in Intu-Flow, a gentle joint mobility program. By spending 10 minutes a day doing those, I have not been sore for the last year and a half. I even did them several hours after I delivered my baby, because my body was aching everywhere, and after doing Intu-Flow I felt infinitely better.

I highly recommend Shane Heins as a personal trainer!”

GarveyHeins_2“My training with Shane has definitely been life changing for me. From the basic warm up and cool down routines to some intense workout sessions, I have become more aware of my body and what it can do. Shane’s training has effected my daily life outside of the gym as well. Whether it is walking up the stairs or carrying things around, I am aware of my breathing and my posture so that I don’t pull a muscle or injure myself. I highly recommend Shane if you want to live a healthy, energetic life. Thanks buddy for everything!!! P.S. Beware of the stairs!! Haha, just kiddin’ buddy!”

“I recently started working for a health club and had decided that it was time to get back to a routine exercise program. One problem, my body was a complete mess. Injuries, aches and pains, plus being a mother of two young children were major contributors. There was also a sense that my body was not strong enough to get right into the typical Cardio, weight-training regime that the club has to offer. Then along comes Shane Heins. We had been discussing my predicament and downright fear of starting an exercise program. He suggested that I try a joint mobility program. He explained how it takes you through a non-invasive and strength building workout that focuses on breathing and body awareness as well as fluid body movements. It was exactly what I was looking for. With Shane’s excellent training skills, I am strengthening my body and my mind. Shane’s easygoing, positive manner is superb motivation and makes the workout enjoyable, safe and effective. The benefits of Shane’s workouts touch all parts of my life.”

“I have been running in road races for almost 40 years and it has always been a little disconcerting to me that I haven’t been able to do regular strength and flexibility work. I had been finding before I took the joint mobility training with Shane that I was consistently developing pains in my lower back after long runs. Now I am finding that, with the joint mobility, I can do regular joint mobility work and I practically have no pain even after a lot of intense training.

Shane’s training method and his personal style allowed me to start at my own level and progress systematically without a huge amount of pain, which is what has kept me out of every other program about flexibility. What I like about the way Shane teaches is that he accepts where you are fully, works with you there, and then encourages you to go for very challenging goals without feeling pressured to do so. You are going to reach whatever goals you set when you work with Shane. You can count on it.”

“This is the first time I have ever worked with a personal trainer and I am so happy with the results. I have been working out for about 2 years but had stalled when I decided to get a personal trainer. The body weight/yoga methods that Shane uses has produced amazing results with improvements on both my cardio from being able to run half an hour to an hour with little effort and strength having virtually no upper body strength to actually being able to hold up my body weight. I had also had some knee and back problems before and those have almost completely disappeared. I am very happy with the results and I look forward to continuing to train with Shane as I know I have so much to learn about working out.”

“I came to Vancouver for a 3 month layover before I made my way to Hawaii to train full-time in Martial Arts. I hired Shane Heins to be my personal trainer to help me get in shape. What I was expecting for a personal trainer wasn’t what I got. I got a lot more and I was very thankful for it. Shane is very knowledgeable in how the body moves which helped me to open up and move in different ranges that I thought I would never be able to move. Along with Kettlebell Lifting and the building of my core strength, my body has transformed to the next level due to Shane and his training methods. Shane is really professional and immediately makes you feel comfortable with what you’re doing through his easy going personality. If you choose to hire Shane as your personal trainer, you’re making a great investment.

Thanks again Shane for all your help!”

“Years of computer work combined with ongoing tennis made it very difficult to move my elbow or wrist without pain. I had gone to physical therapy, which helped to a degree, but I needed to find something that I could incorporate into my normal daily routine. Inactivity seemed to exacerbate the stiffness in my elbow and back, so I knew I had to do something fast. Having done weight training for many years, I knew that that wasn’t the answer.

While I was in Vancouver, I was fortunate enough to meet Shane who listened to all the issues I was having and then told me about joint mobility. I immediately signed up to train the next day. From the very first session, I could feel a difference. Since the moves work the joints in the body as opposed to just the large muscles, it has made me much more aware of my body. Hence, when I find my shoulders creeping up around me ears, I do a few shoulder rolls and down they go… same goes for the tension in my wrist and elbow from over typing. The amazing thing about the workout in that is took away my fear of getting back into shape. Knowing that you only move to the point of tension and not through the pain like most exercises, I was less likely to injure myself. Even after I went back to California, I have maintained a daily routine of Intu-Flow followed by some yoga and have never looked back. Thank G-d for Shane and Intu-Flow! With most of my stiffness gone, instead of getting older, I feel like I am getting younger.”

“I have employed Shane Heins as my personal trainer since January, 2008. I have been impressed with Shane. I am sixty one years old. My objective when training started was not just to increase my strength by lifting weights, it was to improve my flexibility, range of motion, coordination and stability. Since I travel a great deal, I wanted an exercise program that I could use while traveling without needing a gym. Shane met those needs with his programs. During the last eight months I have noticed an increase in my range of motion, I am more flexible, stable and my coordination has improved. In July I had a bad fall when I was hiking and I feel I recovered very quickly. I would recommend Shane as a personal trainer.”

“I wanted a trainer who could make ‘going to the gym’ fun for me again. Shane did that. He really connected with me each morning and showed me how to be more aware of my body. I have never felt more prepared to do squats and dips with perfect form. I learned something new almost every time we got together and Shane made those workouts challeging and rewarding. I would recommend him to anyone who is starting out at the gym and also to those who have been working out for awhile but need a little inspiration.”
